Sept. 17, 2020 – Hello fellow WARA Members,
As you know, our club meetings and functions have been suspended for several months now because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, the Provincial health officials have further tightened the COVID protocols, closing meeting and banquet halls and limiting gathering sizes. How does that affect us?
Monthly General Meetings and social functions like the Saturday Breakfast, Ham Classes, etc. are cancelled until further notice.
More important, our AGM which is usually held the Third Tuesday in October effectively cannot be held in the usual Face-to-Face style. Your Board is meeting to review our options on to how to hold the AGM.
These are trying times for all of us. Some of our members fall in the “High Risk” category for age and health issues and can’t or shouldn’t risk any meeting outside your “Bubble”. And the Provincial Health officials are asking us to shrink our “bubbles”.
I will be posting status updates on the website (www.ve7vic.ca) as well as email as things progress.Thank you all for your understanding as we move through the trying times.
Brent Besse, VA7BNB President – WARA.
