Public Service Radio Communications Events

WARA fulfills a public service function by providing radio communications volunteers for events in and around the Victoria area. Radio Team members provide communication services linking net control, various course locations (first aid and water stations), supply vehicles, ambulance dispatch and some individuals. Our responsibilities include facilitating communication of runner assistance and race emergency situations, and to deliver safety and administrative message traffic. New volunteers are welcome and will be coached as required. Contact Public Service Coordinator for info.

Friday, January 21 – Sunday, January 23, 2022

Radio traffic is a combination of informal requiring little experience for most radio operators and more formal for the dispatch functions. RADIO OPERATORS send the scores for the games from the arenas to headquarters and also relay messages for the organizing committee and officials.
