WARA fulfills a public service function by providing radio communications volunteers for events in and around the Victoria area. Radio Team members provide communication services linking net control, various course locations (first aid and water stations), supply vehicles, medical dispatch, and more. Responsibilities include facilitating communication of runner assistance and any kind of emergency situation, and to deliver safety and administrative message traffic.
New volunteers are very welcome and when possible will be paired with a veteran volunteer. Plenty of documentation will be sent leading up to each event. Contact the Public Service Coordinator to volunteer or with any questions.
