What to bring
- A high visibility reflective vest.
- Make sure to dress warm and in layers suitable for the weather forecast usually including a hat.
- Pack enough water and food to last for the duration of your shift. They are often provided, but not guaranteed for all locations.
- Bring your own radio and a secondary fully charged battery or extra hand held radio.
- Pen and printed out TdV documents.
- A folding camp chair, unless you are assigned to a vehicle.
- Optional small binoculars.
- A cellular telephone is recommended in case it is necessary to call 911.
- If you are using a vehicle, or arrive in one, consider bringing a tool box. There is an official bike mechanic’s vehicle that will come to a breakdown. You may have a simple tool that will be all that’s required to get the rider going again quickly.
