On Thursday October 25, 2023, our AGM was held in-person at the SARBC meeting room with many joining online via Zoom. We had a great turn out across both channels. The following are the key updates from the meeting:
• Our President Brent Besse (VA7RV) gave his report. In it he talked about the importance of our Public Service events and asked for all members to join in and assist at those events, both behind the scenes and as “Boots on the ground”.
• He reported on the dissolution of the relationship with the Red Cross. It was very amicable on both sides with the Red Cross thanking WARA for the help over the years.
• Our Treasurer John Nemeth (VA7JMN) presented our financial report. We are in a good financial position.
• Elections were held next. It was reported that Bailey Meeres (VA7AIB) has resigned from the board. On behalf of the whole club, we want to that thank Bailey for his service. All other board members whose terms were up were re-elected by acclamation.
• After the end of the meeting, a raffle draw was held for a new Chromebook computer that was donated by David Black (VA7LFT). The Chromebook won by Ron Richter (VE7IRR).
