At the general meeting of April 28, 2009, the membership of WARA voted to support the Capital Region Emergency Radio Coordinator's Committee Mt. Survey repeater project.

Donated funds from  the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Swiftsure Committee, were transferred to this project, 40% of the funds were assigned to the VE7VIC tower rebuild.

The Westcoast Amateur Radio Association has completed its envolvement in the Mt Survey project.
