Hi everyone, I would like to thank all of you for your hard work during the 2011 CARHA Pacific Cup Tournament this weekend. There were some of you who went above and beyond (you know who you are) by doing more than one shift, coming in from out of town to do shifts and filling shifts at the last minute. Your extra efforts were really appreciated.
I would like to take this opportunity to also give a special thanks to Iain and Louise Cooke (VE7GIC and VE7GOC). This was their last year participating in the CARHA tournament after many, many years of being the voice of Headquarters on Friday morning and as the CARHA Committee members organizing the communication side of this event. I can’t thank you two enough for your guidance and wisdom when you passed the torch over to me in 2004. Your voices will surely be missed during future events.
I will be contacting operators from this year’s event around mid-November to see if you are available to do a shift similar to this year in January 2012. If you do not wish to be involved with the Pacific Cup Tournament next year or would like a different shift or venue, please let me know.
Also, note that next year we will be looking for some additional operators for Headquarters so if being the Net Control Station at HQ is of interest to you, please let me know. Thanks again everyone – job well done!!!! 73 – Neil : Email: ve7nil at rac dot ca
