It is with sadness that we report the passing of Allan Grey Robson, VE7WU. Al was the past president of the New Horizons Amateur Radio Club and a strong support of the local amateur radio groups. He also strongly supported the regional emergency communications groups, particularly that in View Royal who have honoured his service by lowering their flags to half-mast.
The Westcoast Amateur Radio Association, WARA, will especially miss him as he was one of the charter members at the start of this Radio Club. His was also very active in volunteering his time during work parties and for Field Day events where he would come every year with a new antenna to try and his great ear for CW. His presence will be especially missed. The Victoria Amateur Radio Community has lost one of its finest members.

The Memorial Service for Al Robson is being held on Monday July 30th at First Memorial, Royal Oak on Falaise Drive at 1400 Hrs. More information can be found by searching local TC newspaper and on-line memorial web sites.
